Guajimico: The Hidden Cove

Tucked halfway between Cienfuegos and Trinidad, Guajimico is a destination for those who want to disappear into nature. Its name means “The Place of Fish” in the language of the original inhabitants, and it remains a diver’s best-kept secret. It’s characterized by charming cabins set amid beautiful nature that is reminiscent of a European coast with breathtaking views. The resort sprawls across the forest, offering hiking & cave exploration as well as a small beach for kayaking. The dive operation is small with dive sites located within 5 mins or less of the resort.  Coral formations are both sloping and walls, little to no current with easy, warm conditions.

  • The Vibe: Remote, eco-centric, and adventurous.

  • The Landscape: A dramatic coastline where limestone cliffs meet the turquoise Caribbean. The area is honeycombed with caves and forests filled with red crabs and tropical birds.

  • Underwater Wonders: Guajimico is home to a reef system just offshore, offering wall dives and crystal-clear visibility without the crowds of the larger resorts.

Mountain and Water Escapes: From this central base, you are minutes away from the Escambray Mountains and El Nicho Waterfalls, where you can hike through jungles and swim in natural emerald pools
